ONE14 Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the website located at www.one14.one (the “Website”), the ONE14 QARDIO mobile application (the “App”), or registering for any ONE14 challenge, race, or event (collectively, the “Services”), operated by ONE14 Challenge, a New Jersey nonprofit corporation (“ONE14,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Services, registering for an event, or creating an App account, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the Services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or that a parent or legal guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf if you are a minor.
2. Description of Services
ONE14 is a global community combining Qur’an memorization with endurance running challenges, including in-person races (distances from 5K to full marathon), virtual challenges, an online store, and the ONE14 QARDIO App, which provides Qur’an audio, movement challenge tracking, and a community feed.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
Some features require creating an App account or completing an event/store registration form. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep any login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Event Registration, Assumption of Risk, and Release of Liability
IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.
Participation in ONE14 challenges and races involves physical exertion — including running and walking — and carries inherent risks, including but not limited to personal injury, illness, permanent disability, death, and property damage or loss. These risks include, without limitation:
Falls, trips, and collisions with other participants, bystanders, or obstacles;
Injuries resulting from uneven surfaces, weather conditions, traffic, animals, or terrain;
Injuries from inadequate or inappropriate equipment or safety gear; and
Health risks, including dehydration, heatstroke, hypothermia, and other physical conditions.
By registering for or participating in any ONE14 event, you acknowledge and agree that:
You are participating voluntarily, with knowledge of the risks involved, and you assume all risks associated with participation, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen.
You are physically fit and sufficiently trained to participate, or you have consulted a physician and received clearance to do so, and you agree to stop and seek medical attention if you experience symptoms that could affect your ability to safely participate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue ONE14 Challenge, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, sponsors, and event partners (the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, expenses, or liabilities arising from your participation, including those caused by the negligence of the Released Parties.
You consent to receive necessary medical treatment in the event of an injury or medical emergency, and you understand you are responsible for any resulting medical expenses. The Released Parties are not liable for providing, arranging, or failing to provide medical treatment.
At the time of registration for an in-person Event, you will also be asked to sign a separate Event Waiver and Release of Liability. That document contains the full, event-specific terms governing your participation — including the release described above — and controls over this Section in the event of any conflict for matters relating to that Event.
5. Photo and Media Release
By participating in an Event, using the App, or engaging with our community spaces, you grant ONE14 Challenge and its representatives permission to use your likeness, image, name, or voice — including photographs, videos, or other recordings taken during an Event or shared within the community — in any media format, including for promotional or marketing purposes, without compensation.
6. Children and Family Participants
Children may participate in designated events, such as the Kids Fun Run, with the registration and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms — including the release of liability and photo/media release above — on the child’s behalf and confirms responsibility for the child’s participation and safety.
7. Community Guidelines and User Content
The App’s community du’ā’ feed and any linked community groups (such as our WhatsApp group) are intended for respectful, supportive engagement consistent with ONE14’s mission. You agree not to post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate. We reserve the right to remove content and restrict access for violations of these guidelines. Content you post to community spaces may be visible to other participants.
8. Payments, Purchases, and Refunds
All registrations are final. There are no refunds under any circumstances, including event cancellation, personal circumstances, or inability to participate. Registrations are also non-transferable between ticket types or challenge levels (including selected surah and distance) once submitted. All store sales are final unless otherwise stated at checkout.
9. Intellectual Property
The ONE14 name, logo, “ONE14 QARDIO” branding, and Website/App content are the property of ONE14 Challenge or its licensors. You may not use them without our prior written permission.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party platforms, such as WhatsApp, Strava, and social media platforms. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content or practices.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ONE14 CHALLENGE AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND VOLUNTEERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES OR PARTICIPATION IN ANY EVENT. This limitation is in addition to, and does not narrow, the release described in Section 4 or the Event-specific waiver you sign at registration.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ONE14 Challenge from any and all claims, actions, suits, damages, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or resulting from your violation of these Terms or your participation in an Event, including claims brought by third parties.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App or Services at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason, with or without notice.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. For claims relating specifically to an in-person Event, the separate Event Waiver and Release of Liability you sign at registration will govern, including any jurisdiction or venue terms stated there.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
